This includes:Working with key stakeholders to provide network design and build in support of LAN, MAN, WAN, data centre, Wireless, extranet, VoIP, Trader Voice, and branch deploymentsSecuring funding for proposed designs via governance process (i.e. review of technical designs documentation and build of material) while keeping in mind opportunities for cost reductions.Configuration of network hardwareDeployment of network equipment and subsequent testing in keeping with our risk profile:Network StabilityCompliance to regulatory and mandatory policiesAudit findings and Issue Assurances are fully addressedAdherence to all change management processesFull documentation for all deploymentsKnowledge Transfer to Support teams Prioritization of work streams with business and IT partnersFocus on delivery of committed work streams in the agreed time frames What will you be doing?Solution engineers is responsible for design, build and deployment activities to deliver appropriate infrastructure solutions to meet customer requirements at an enterprise level and within budgetContribute to the definition of network infrastructure strategy and policy by taking an active role in working with Product Managers and Product Engineers to influence architectural strategySubject Matter Expert in one or more network technologies and working knowledge across all other network technologies utilized by Barclays Ensure compliance to all GTIS disciplines including participation in governance, change management and risk/audit requirements What we’re looking for7+ years of experience in designing and implementing complex data networks7+ year in-Depth technical knowledge of network components (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, proxy, wireless, etc.) and routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.)Four-year college degree in Telecommunication Networks, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experienceSkills that will help you in the roleData - CCIE qualification or equivalent experience7+ years’ experience in designing large-scale, enterprise network solutions in large, financial institutionsExtensive Knowledge and experience with Cisco technologyExtensive Knowledge and experience with data centre design and deploymentExtensive knowledge and experience of WAN routing technologiesExtensive knowledge and experience with Load Balancer technologiesExtensive knowledge and experience with Proxy, DNS and DHCP technologiesExtensive knowledge and experience with Firewall technologiesExtensive knowledge and experience with VoIP and Trader Voice technologiesGood knowledge of wireless technologies and implementationGood knowledge of MAN technologies, optical networkingExperience managing relationships with senior business partnersCapable of bringing together expert knowledge from across the organization and consolidating into a cohesive end-to-end network solutionStrong communications skills and the ability to effectively communicate and sell complex network solutionsWhere will you be working?At Barclays, we are proud to be redefining the future of finance and here at Whippany we are defining the future of the workplace and the future of the way we work and live.
