The primary role of the Position is to work with all IRE resources to identify and execute domestic real estate investments on behalf of IREs higher-returning strategies, including the current opportunity fund, Invesco Strategic Opportunities III (\"ISO III\" or the \"Fund\"). Secondary responsibilities will include asset and portfolio management. Success will be defined primarily on the basis of investment sourcing and execution, driving performance for the Fund.

The Fund is a closed-end, commingled opportunistic vehicle seeking 16-18% leveraged returns across all property types throughout the U.S. and Europe. The Fund has a flexible investment mandate, which allows for debt and equity investments, asset and entity-level investments, and up to 65% capital deployment in Europe.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

Thoughtfully source compelling risk-adjusted domestic direct and joint venture equity investment opportunities for the Fund; sourcing channels to include the candidates own network, plus that of IREs regional acquisition officers in Newport Beach, San Francisco, New York and Dallas (headquarters for IRE)

Investment / joint venture structuring and negotiation

Coordinate underwriting and due diligence, including all modeling and financial analysis; market information; and, in coordination with IREs closings group, third party reports and legal

Lead or assist each investments financing strategy and secure the appropriate debt

Write / edit / review all investment memorandums and present to IREs Screening (weekly), Steering (quarterly or as-needed) and Investment Committees (weekly)

Constant collaboration with IRE Asset Management to ensure business plan suitability and execution

Constant collaboration with IRE Research to develop investment thesis and incorporate Research into decision-making across the portfolio

Accountability for investment results

Contribution to IREs thought leadership related to the Funds strategy (e.g. Investment Strategy Group)

Maintain open and effective lines of communication internally and externally

Effectively communicate the Funds investment strategy to investors as needed

Other duties as assigned

Work Experience / Knowledge:

At least 10 years of real estate acquisition, asset management and real estate finance experience; strong preference for expertise in equity, or equity-like, investments across all property types

Experience interacting with and presenting to investors and advisors

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

Proven ability to maintain, develop and grow relationships in the industry

Solid and practical understanding of real estate fundamentals

Proficiency with Excel and ARGUS

Demonstrated leadership qualities

Effective communication at all levels

Frequent travel and the willingness to put in long hours where needed

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance is required; advanced degree or CFA preferred
