Perform and review technical tax research, writing and issue resolution
Identify, and implement planning opportunities and strategies
Assist with representation of taxpayers before SALT taxing authorities and planning controversy defense
Obtain guidance from SALT authorities
Perform SALT due diligence
Responsible for managing and developing client relationships and providing excellent work product.
Significant interaction with partners, clients and prospects
Perform certain consulting services from time to time, such as voluntary disclosure requests; due diligence; and drafting internal and external tax alerts
Draft tax alerts for website and email distribution to clients
Supervise, train, and mentor staff
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor s degree in accounting
CPA license required; Advanced degree in taxation preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience, with at least 3 years of related to SALT Services in a public accounting firm
Experience/expertise with NY & NJ taxes and multistate compliance
Strong interpersonal skills and a strong desire to advance as a professional
Ability to service a large number of client relationships
Ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
Keen attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well within a team environment
Ability to train and develop staff
