Job Summary Under the direction of management, the Mic Person is responsible for the administration and control of sales and in-store promotions. The Mic Person is responsible for sales by making carefully planned product special announcements creating an urgency to buy to achieve sales goals. The Mic Person is also responsible for customer relations and sales floor control according to established store and company policies and procedures. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: I. Responsible for driving sales. A. Makes planned merchandise announcements to customers stating product, placement, price and time frame to create urgency to buy. B. Adjusts departmental announcements based on store traffic. C. Through an hourly sales report, records sales and margin and adjusts announcements to attain individual departmental sales goals. D. Accountable for accessories department sales goal. E. Must be highly knowledgeable of sale prices, product knowledge, and competition activity. F. See Mic Person Standards policy 3-1 for additional detail. II. Responsible for customer relations. A. Greets customers at store front and mic stand. B. Assists customers in locating needed departments by direction or by enlisting the aid of a sales associate. C. Creates customer involvement using fun specials, games and contests; ensures all communication over the microphone is family friendly. D. Politely attempts to turn non purchasing shoppers before exiting store. E. Assists in customer exchanges and returns. F. Assures compliance of all Non-Negotiable Service Standards. G. Sincerely thanks all customers leaving the store. III. Responsible for sales floor control. A. Makes customer service announcements directing sales associates to shoppers in need of assistance. B. Makes announcements directing departmental sales associates to areas in need of aisle maintenance. C. Monitors potential shoplifting opportunities and enlist the assistance of store personnel, management, or loss prevention personnel when needed. D. Monitors length of lines and check-out times at registers and calls for back up cashiers or mate checkers when more than 2 customers are in line. IV. Responsible for following store policies and procedures and all management direction.
